Last assignment for CTS is Making a Video out of the Prototype of assignment 3. This assignment works as a group. My team members are Darren, Nick, Bryan and Sue Zhua.

First, each of us have to come out with our own idea of movie for prototype and have a meeting with Mr Charles. I was overseas that time and guess my gorup didn't come out with ideas well cause we have to resubmit our idea again.

After I back to Malaysia, my team member decide to use my prototype for the movie! They say because we can explore more by using my prototype.

We initially wanted to do short stories and dramatic vidoes.. but after our first scene filmed, we realized it's too long and draggy..

Brainstorming started once again and and finally we decided to do an advertisement.

Curious aboout how my "Summer Shoes" works? WATCH THIS!

Not a design student? Don't know what means by Six Thinking Hats? Don't worry, let me introduce this six thinking colour hats:

So what is our Six Thinking Hats about?

To invent something. Something that human haven't invent yet. Something that doesn't exist.

Creative Thinking Skill at its finest. LOL.

Anyway, we have to combine to elements to for example;  pencil firestater.

Here comes a little of my ideas;

First I want to say thanks cause everyone say all of my idea's names are "adorable". HAHA.

Mr Charles choose my Summer Shoes which yes is what I wanted. So we started to do SCAMPER on our choosen idea.

What is SCAMPER? See below;

After weeks of sketching ideation, finally comes to the most important part of the assignment : FUSE!

And this basically means that bringing our idea into real life. Like. REAL. LIFE. INVENTING.

Yes. So tbh it took me really long time to roughly know how to make a shoe shape and the fabric and colours I need to use. After many trials and failures, I finally manage to make a little out of it, like yeah, I kind of make a "shoe" out of my own invention and bare hands.

Looks like it's only a normal shoes? Heh heh you are very wrong. Let me show you in the next post. Stay tune!

Here comes our second assignment, The Mask.

In the first week into our second assignment, we were asked to think of one word in 3 seconds. & I choose "Sky"

You think it's over now? Nah.

After we said out the word and wrote it down, we have to expand more ideas on our word.

After the brainstorming, get 3 words inside all the selections we'd written just now that best describe you.

And last, Start to EXPLORE.

This exploration were really fun to me AT FIRST, after that, it's a killing.

After we done exploring the "3 words that best describe you" by sketching it down, it's time for Mr Charles to check on our works and decide which work the best for us.

So Mr Charles suggested me to choose my birds & wings, which I was really happy cause I love birds and wings. It's time to apply more of our CTS again to actually create a mask that will "wow" Mr Charles.

As you know, our job is always to impress Mr Charles (since he's really hard to impress cause the things he'd experienced and saw before, uncountable.)

I sketched down some of my ideas and initially it was all typical mask.. until one day I was searching idea from wings and something comes to my mind.. : "What if I can make my wings fly?"

I started to get excited on my idea and do many research in a short time, and sure enough, I didn't make it fly, but I manage to make it move.

My articulated mini wings wasn't work that nice in the end cause I was suppose to make it move nicely, but end of the rushing of time I couldn't have time to actually beautify and modified everything nicely. Ok I know, my time management sucks.
I didn't a high mark for this but still, I did try my best in the shortest time, I can't say I'm happy with my work or satisfied, but at least I did it!

On Week 4 during Creative Thinking Skill's tutorial class, no doubt that Mr Charles is throwing us some hard question again.

Do a Social Experiment base on color/ appearance/behavior to observe the reaction from the victim/individual.

&

Why are the participants react towards those appearance?

And this time, we literally "buy"  a new group member with 15 points. And yes, after trying our best to snatch that handsome new guy in our class (initially think he was kinda hot but now... nah.) by auction, we willing to minus our 15 points for our assignment or whatever marks it is. Worth it, I guessed.

Brainstrom started and our first idea was provided by Jason (the "initially" hot guy HAHA)

"How would people react when they were ask to slap a stranger in the public?"

"How would people react when they saw couples quarreling in the public, and will them reach out to help the couples?"

"How would people react to random act of kindness?"

After some discussion, we decide to take our second idea into action, and honestly in the first try, it wasn't  really success. We can't conclude that because most of the students in campus are ignorant, but somehow in Malaysia such country, people will more likely to not to care about what happening around them when it's not their matters to avoid problems. But still, our team members are still happy cause we give it a try. After several failures, we decided to simplify it and then change our idea to the 3rd idea, "How would people react to random act of kindness?"

Here's the results:

My first try holding the camera for social experiment for the first time cause you know it wasn't easy when you have to hide everywhere but still get the scene haha. What we conclude is for some people it's not matter how you look or the way you talk, but some people  still will judge the book by its cover. Anyway, I hope you enjoy our video!
" How to make an egg fly?," Mr Charles asked during the lecture of Week 2. This is probably the hardest question that had been thrown at me in my entire life and yes it's even harder than thinking of what to eat for my dinner later.

"Is this even possible?" the first question comes to my mind. But after all, the purpose of having Creative Thinking Skills courses is to develop individual's skills in thinking and solving impossible problems. And for sure, to come out with something unique and surprising.

Mr Charles also incharged as the lecturer of the FID students in Creative Thinking Skill's classes. He then arranged us into group since it's a group assignment (thanks God) by using some apps I guess? After refreshing for like a thousand times, finally Me (Kah Yee), Joyi and Iwan had team up for the group assignments.

First and foremost, what's the question & problems will we encountered during this project?

1. How can egg fly?
2. How can it fall safely?
3. How can we eject the egg?
4. How slow must the egg fall to survive?
5. What materials can we use to make egg fly and secure it?
6. How to control the speed of an egg?
7. Gliding VS parachuting?

8. Best position to hold the egg?

We then come up with different ideas and sketch it down for our ideal journal.

Here's briefly our ideas :

1)  Parachute
2) Water Rocket
3) Slingshot
4) Paraglider
5) Catapult

To protect the egg :

1) Wrap with sponges
2) Wrap with cotton
3) Put in the plastic bag filled with rice
4) Wrap with wet towels

We had come out of many ideas and finally choose to use a catapult to launch the egg with a parachute. Egg is secure by sponges and cottons.

On August 19th 2015 , our team had successfully submitted our Creative Thinking Skill's Assignment 1 : How to make an Egg Fly?

We had also achieved the mission that not only make the egg fly but also not breaking the egg.

A thousand thanks to my team member who are always being helpful and kind. Without any one of us, we couldn't achieved such successes in this project and our hard works had apparently paid off. Further more, thanks to Mr. Charles who gives us idea and suggestion during the discussion.

Also, thanks to everyone who made it happened.
